Pathways, MI knows that parenting is one of the toughest and most important things you will ever do, and so we offer a wide range of services to support your efforts to be a stronger parent and create a stronger family.
PARENTING GROUPS
Our services are designed to teach practical skills to effectively deal with stress, conflicts and discipline. We strongly believe that love helps children grow through mistakes but should be balanced with a logical approach that helps children and youth live with the consequences of their choices. We also offer groups that focus on providing support and encouragement in your efforts to be a good parent. A variety of options are available, and we would love to talk with you about how we can help!
Pathways, MI is a leader in providing the Strengthening Families Program, which is a research-based family education program that improves communication between parents and youth, increases family bonding and commitment, and reduces the risk of substance use in middle school and high school youth. The program runs for 7 weeks, for 2.5 hours per session. The program is provided free of charge and includes dinner and childcare. Contact Julie Leeson at 616-396-2301 for dates and locations.
Parenting Wisely - A self-administered computer based program that teaches parents important behavior management skills. The program is made available by appointment.
Bring the family and join other parents for meaningful conversations about raising children at our Circle of Parents groups. Parents choose the topics, trained facilitators lead the discussion. These groups are for any parents with children of all ages and are FREE! Light dinner and childcare is provided. Groups are offered in Ottawa, Allegan and Muskegon Counties, including groups Just for Dads.
