She has worked as a clinician at Pathways, MI for over 10 years. Clara is bilingual/bi-cultural and passionately advocates for the local Hispanic Community.

Expertise: Deb works with couples and individuals, and works primarily with depression, anxiety, grief, life adjustment, and women's issues. She is also trained in Critical Incident Stress Management.

Experience: Denise has worked as a social worker for 20 years. Agencies she has worked at prior to Pathways, MI include: Michigan Child Guidance Clinic, Michigan Family Resource Head Start, Aquinas College. She has been with Pathways, MI for just over 5 years.
Expertise: Play therapy, infant mental health, adoption and foster care, trauma including sexual abuse, domestic violence victims, family therapy, Filial Therapy, substance abuse, self injury, anxiety, depression, women issues, learning disabilities, Autism , special needs children, behavior management and eating disorders.
Personal: Denise loves to fish, watch football and rugby games, and has run a marathon to raise money for leukemia. She is a member of a synchronized ice skating team and is active in her church.

Experience: Elisa has worked at the Allegan County Juvenile Detention Center as a Child Care Worker and G.E.D teacher for the past two years. At the Detention Center she gained experience writing and implementing behavioral plans and conducting crisis intervention sessions throughout the day. Prior to this Elisa worked with the special education department at Black River Public School where she worked with children with special needs. Elisa also worked with families and helped run a food pantry in her undergraduate internship at Beacon of Hope.
Specialties: Bilingual/Biracial counseling for Holland’s Hispanic population. Other specialties include borderline personality disorder, crisis intervention, parenting, trauma, and marital issues. Elisa enjoys working with diverse populations and has a passion for working with adolescents.
Personal: Elisa is a wife and mother of two young boys. She enjoys watching movies and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys reading, writing, and scrapbooking.

Experience: Lisa has 10 years of experience working in the criminal justice field and 10 years in mental health and substance abuse services. Lisa previously resided in the military sector and has experience working with military families. She has been with Pathways, MI since 2008. She currently provides counseling services in mental health and substance abuse to adults, adolescents, and families.
Expertise: Lisa specializes in bilingual/biracial counseling for Holland’s Hispanic population; MultiSystemic Treatment for adolescents and families involved in the Juvenile Community Justice Program; Women’s Mental Health Stabilization and Substance Abuse Group.
Personal: Lisa has three daughters and one granddaughter. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and reading.

Experience: Phil worked for Recovery Source Ministries for three years as an outpatient therapist/counselor in Zeeland. Previously, he worked with ex-offenders as a group facilitator for Project Rehab. He completed a post-graduate internship as a therapist at Ottawa County CMH in Holland and a counseling practicum with Barry County CMH in Hastings.
Specialties: Phil’s specialty training is Marriage and Family therapy and enjoys working with adolescents, adults and families. He focuses on issues of anger management, anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationships, recovery, and re-entry. Phil is a Nationally Certified Counselor, and was recently certified as a Distance Credentialed Counselor for using technology in counseling. He has completed basic training in EMDR therapy for use with PTSD and other clients experiencing symptoms of trauma.
Personal: Phil and his wife have four adult children and 9 grandchildren. Phil is involved with his church and volunteers with Holland Rescue Mission. He enjoys sailing, bicycling, camping, riding motorcycles and spending time with family.

She has extensive experience with both substance abuse and mental health issues working with adults, families, couples and children. She has been in a supervisory position for the past 9 years and has been Clinical Director for the past 4 years.
Personal: Sandy enjoys spending time with family, camping, reading and vacationing anywhere it is warm.

Experience: Susan joined Pathways, MI in 2008 and brings to her practice over 22 years of experience as a teacher and counselor. She especially enjoys working with children and adolescents but also works with adults. Expertise: Children and play therapy, depression, women’s health and wellness issues, stress and anxiety issues, grief, marriage/relationship/family issues, and adjustment to life transitions and changes.
Personal: Sue and her husband have two wonderful adult children. She enjoys playing flute, cats, birding, reading, ebaying, highpointing and gardening. She is also very involved in her church.

Experience: Tim has recently started conducting substance abuse assessments at the Fillmore Correctional Facility in conjunction with Pathways, MI. He worked for St Johns Home as a substance abuse counselor for a teen outpatient program from 2002 to 2008. He also worked with at risk teenage boys in a residential setting while at St John’s Home since 1999.
Expertise: Tim’s area of special interest include substance abuse issues, adolescent and adults.
Personal: Tim is married in Grand Haven with a newborn son. He enjoys traveling running, mt. bike racing and an occasional duathalon.

He worked for Pathways, MI (then CFSWM) until 2002, and then for Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services until 2010. He has returned to Pathways, MI to continue to provide compassionate, quality care for both substance abuse and mental health needs.
Expertise: Wayne’s areas of special interest include addictions, mood disorders, co-occurring disorders, oppositional-defiant disorder and marriage and family problems.
